“Maintaining a riding office in the riding is normal for all Members of Parliament. Budgets are provided to support such offices. If elected I shall, as is normal, maintain an office in the riding. FURTHERMORE, as I have done during this election and the previous one, if elected I shall maintain a toll-free number so that all constituents can contact me without incurring long distance telephone charges.”

"Here are the facts. When Stephen Harper assumed responsibility for the nation’s finances in 2006, Canada had a $13 billion surplus.
Five years later, we’re $56 billion in deficit. Harper hasn’t spent a cent on health care that wasn’t already committed by a Liberal government. And now he says he’ll cut $11 billion in government services but won’t say on what.
The health care accord that was signed in 2004 was done on the basis that Ottawa and the provinces would work together to improve the system. Despite this, Stephen Harper has refused to meet with the provinces on health care, because he says the Federal government should play no role in protecting and improving the health care system. He’s wrong.
As you read this, there are just 14 short days remaining to save our cherished universal health care system. "
