Meet Marjory...
Marjory Loveys has an extensive background in Liberal politics and lives in Brockville with her husband Tony.
Marjory grew up in rural Oxford County.
- Living and attending public school in Hickson
– population about 300. -
Graduating from Woodstock Collegiate Institute
– riding the school bus for 5 years.
She graduated from the University of Waterloo, ran a small business and has worked as a senior advisor in government.
She understands small business issues AND how to get things done in Ottawa. For example, Leeds-Grenville needs support to develop the next generation of new technology and green jobs, and for tourism, small business and broadband internet so that young people do not need to leave to find work.
She has:
- An engineering degree – engineers are trained to identify and solve problems.
- Eight years experience co-owning a small business with at times a staff of 25 people – and the need to meet a monthly payroll.
- Ten years experience in the PMO as senior advisor, economic development, for The Rt Hon. Jean Chrétien - helping to move projects from ideas to reality.
Throughout her career she has been a strong advocate of good environmental policies to protect our health and the environment, while supporting job creation in new industries that will grow in the future.
