Ms. Loveys began her career as a computer systems analyst with Imperial Oil in Toronto.
For three years, starting in 1977, she worked for Pollution Probe and Energy Probe.
In Ottawa, as special assistant to the Minister, Energy Mines and Resources from 1980 to 1982, she provided policy advice on energy conservation and renewable energy.
In 1982 she joined Public Affairs International where she monitored and analyzed government policies affecting the oil and gas industry and provided strategic advice on government relations to that sector.
In 1985 she moved to Energy Pathways Inc. (EPI) where she provided communication strategies, market and technology adoption advice to clients in the environment, housing and energy sectors. Ms. Loveys became Vice-President and co-owner of EPI and worked with her partner to grow the company to 25 employees.
In October 1993 she joined the Prime Ministers Office (PMO) as Senior Advisor, Economic Development Policy, where she remained until December 2003. During that time she managed and advised on issues in the areas of small business, natural resources, environment, transportation, agriculture and rural broadband access.
While in the PMO, she worked with Members of Parliament and met with a broad range of technical experts and stakeholders in order to find solutions that were sound public policy, had broad support and fulfilled government commitments.
Since 2003, Marjory has been an artist and consultant. Her art shows at Covent Garden Fine Art Gallery in Bloomfield, Prince Edward County. Her consulting projects include working for the Liberal Party of Canada researching policy.
Marjory put up signs for Liberal candidates as a high school student.
She was a member of the Eglinton Provincial Riding Association in late 1970s.
She worked as a policy assistant for Marc Lalonde 1980-1982 and for Jean Chrétien from 1993 to 2003.
She worked on federal and provincial campaigns in Leeds Grenville, Ottawa Centre and Ottawa South.
Marjory has worked on several Liberal Platforms over the last 15 years.
Marjory was the Liberal candidate for the riding of Leeds-Grenville in the 2008 federal election.
Chairman of the Board of the Canadian Institute of Environmental Law and Policy, an environmental policy and research group (1986 to 1993).
Founding Chairman of the Environmental Compensation Corporation, an Ontario Crown Corporation created by Part IX of Ontario's Environmental Protection Act (1986 to 1992).
Member, Canadian Environmental Advisory Council, an advisory group appointed by the federal Minister of the Environment (1978 to 1980).
